Residents Board Review:

2019 Residents Board Review:
March 30-31, 2019

Senior Dermatology residents receive an intensive two day training session with review of slides and discussion of cases. Residents participate in a mock examination with microscopic review of 150 cases. During the examination, they will perform microscopic evaluation of these cases in a timed multiple choice examination. This is followed by review of the correct answers and explanation of distractors with description of key histologic points of board relevant cutaneous diseases and neoplasms. The second day of the course consists of detailed, in depth microscopic review of all board relevant dermatologic entities. This portion of the course includes comprehensive review of inflammatory and neoplastic diseases within categorical groups and histologic patterns as well as appropriate histologic keys to the correct diagnosis of these entities. The Board Review is performed as an educational service to the residents with no charge to the resident or training program, and an anonymous survey is utilized after completion of the program to help improve the session for future residents.
