Melissa Dillard, MD
Dr. Dillard is a second-generation pathologist and a native of central Alabama and Georgia. She completed her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine with clinical clerkships in New York City. Following an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL, she completed a dermatopathology fellowship in Dallas, Texas under the direction of dermatologist and dermatopathologist Dr. Clay J. Cockerell.
Dr. Dillard is passionate about dermatopathology and has been an active participant in the teaching of dermatology and pathology to residents alike. She has also been a participant in national dermatopathology and pathology meetings, with recognition in her varied research interests. Prior to the completion of her medical degree, Dr. Dillard devoted time to volunteering in her local community and served as a medical volunteer in Shanghai, China.
Outside of her role as a dermatopathologist, Dr. Dillard enjoys live music, true crime documentaries, and exploring new places with her husband and two girls.
